Foothills Community Church

Covenant

Having been led by the Spirit of God to receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we humbly and joyfully enter into the covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

With the help of the Holy Spirit; we commit to walk together in Christian love; to study the word; to be diligent in prayer; to live pure and holy lives and to seek forgiveness and restoration quickly when we fail; to worship and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ; to support the activities of the church and celebration of the Lord’s Supper; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel throughout all nations.

We further commit to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to rejoice with one another; to be slow to take offense and quick to forgive.

We will strive to maintain family and private devotions; provide Christian education for our children; pray for the salvation of our family and acquaintances; to be faithful in our commitments and Christ-like in our actions; to use our influence to combat the abuse of drugs and alcohol, the spread of pornography and any other evil and injustice when we see it.

We believe that marriage represents the union of Christ and the church and that it is between one man and one woman.

We believe in the sanctity of life for all and abhor the killing of the unborn.

And with the help of the Holy Spirit, “we will stand firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; in no way alarmed by our opponents…not only believing in Christ Jesus, but also willing to suffer for His sake.”
(Philippians 1:27-29)
